How Do We Handle Our Royalty Free Music?

Most of our products are available on a royalty free basis. How we operate our site is that you purchase licenses which permit you to use the music for a specific purpose.

We make our music easily available to our consumers with lower level budgets and local broadcast scenarios. But when it comes to national broadcasts and distribution special license fees come into play we are still extremely affordable compared to most other companies.

Now please don't let the word royalty frighten you. You as the direct consumer of our music are not actually paying royalties. How we work is simply like this. If you intend to use the music on this site for a national/international broadcast then we demand a copy of the cue sheet that you would submit to the television or radio station so that we may collect our performance royalties from ASCAP or BMI. You do not pay for these royalties, the actual broadcaster (radio/TV stations) pay these royalties.

The only other special forbearance of royalties is through any form of distribution that is for profit. We also have a special license for this in which you pay a set fee for the amount of tracks you wish to produce. The fee is really low, and due by the time you are ready to actually distribute your material.

Here is how WIKI describes royalty free music.

Royalty-free music commonly refers to stock or 'library music' licensed for a single fee, without the need to pay any subsequent royalties.

There are many applications for which music must be licensed, such as for use in video and multimedia production, but the traditional payment structure (in which a royalty is charged for each usage) would be cumbersome or more costly. Royalty-free music libraries address this by offering music that can be purchased for (in most cases) a one-time fee and then be used by the purchaser as many times as needed.
